So, if you’ve never worked with a Personal Stylist of any sort before, there are a few things that may be useful to know, or perhaps you’d just like to know a little more before you contact me.

Q: Do I need to do anything before you come around for a wardrobe edit?

A: No, leave your wardrobe in the state that you would see it every morning, this will help me understand potentially see where things can be improved for you in the short term and allow me to make some valid recommendations that will make a difference.

Q: What happens to the clothes I don’t want anymore?

A: They will go into 2 piles; one pile is for recycling and the other is for the charity shop. I don’t take the clothes with me unless we have prearranged.

Q: What should I wear on a personal shopping trip?

A: Something comfortable that is easy to change in and out of. Ideally wear or bring a good pair of shoes with you as it will be useful when trying on trousers in shops.

Q: Does the shopping trip need to take 3 hours?

A: No, it doesn’t, but I find that is the optimum amount of time to be productive and make use of the day. It can be shorter or longer if needs be and we will take a break then.

Q: Can I get a whole new wardrobe in just 3 hours?

A: That would be difficult if you are looking at it in terms of pure quantity of clothes, my aim is to find you pieces that you will regularly need to use and is lifestyle appropriate, or alternatively for a one-off event. If you would like more time, that can be discussed prior to us meeting.

Q: Did you have to get any qualifications to do your job?

A: I didn’t have to and not all stylists do, but yes, I studied and qualified at The London College of Style prior to setting up my business in personal styling.

Q: Do you style women also?

A: No, I stick to styling men as the focus on my business. I do however know some fantastic female stylists so would be more than happy to recommend you personally.

Q: Can I buy a gift voucher for someone else?

A: Yes, you can do by clicking here. Gift vouchers are very popular for Christmas and birthday presents as well as corporate or event prize draws. All gift vouchers are non-refundable and should be used or a service booked in within 6 months of purchase.

Q: What is your minimum charge?

A: £200 is my minimum charge for any face to face service. My soon to be released E-Styling package will be starting at just £99, where I simply do the shopping for you online and send recommendations.

Q: What kind of budget should I be looking at for a shopping trip?

A: A sensible budget would be between £1,200 – £1,500 to start with. However, this does depend on your expectations and these would be discussed long before we meet anywhere with the intention to shop. I have had clients spend less or who have bought a lot less than that recommended.

Q: How does the Personal Shopping day work, do I follow you around the shops?

A: No, you won’t. I arrive at least one hour before you and do a pre-shop. This is where I will put items aside for you based on our conversation, questionnaire and your sizes. I make a note of all the shops and photograph the items before seeing you. When we meet up, we’ll sit down for a coffee and discuss where we are going to go and confirm what you are looking to get from the day, just to set the expectations and get the very most of the day. When we get to the shops you will go straight to the changing rooms and try on the pre-selected items, from there we will look at adding accessories etc to finish off any look we want to achieve. </span

Q: Where will you take me to shop?

A: This completely depends on what you are after from the day. My main locations are:

    • London (Selfridges, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Liberty etc.) or anywhere in particular you wanted to go.
    • Bristol
    • Bicester Village (Discount designer brands)
    • Bath
    • Cardiff

However, I will recommend wherever I think it is that we need to go if you have specific requirements.

Q: This really isn’t something I would typically do, set my mind at ease?

A: As a wise person once told me, ‘the best things happen outside your comfort zone’. With any service I offer we can have a good chat beforehand and with any shop you will have also filled in a questionnaire. I work with you on the day and don’t have a prefixed way of doing things. My aim isn’t to try and make you look fashionable, it is to help you establish your own style and be comfortable with it. Anything we do will be an education, and you will learn a lot you can put into practise at any time in the future. Why not ring me for a chat, we can always discuss any concerns!
